Don't Judge Me

Don't judge me by my cover.
You can't believe everything you hear.
Don't just hide me under.
It's broken, withered, and near.

You hold me close and tear me away.
From the suffering and the pain.
So why hurt me by fakeness.
By keeping me sane.

I don't wanna be fooled.
Or judged for who I'm not.
I know I'm not gold.
But don't leave me here to rot.

So please don't judge me.
I'm real and you're mine.
You held me through everything.
You'll stay 'til I die.
