Become the Difference

Here you all are calling each other names,

Spreading hurt and pouring rain on someone else's day.

Turning around when another is knocked down,

Rather than creating a beautiful smile from a broken down frown.

Tuning out wrong words that you can't stand to hear,

Instead of firing back kindness and reassuring a peer.

Too often our backs are turned to those in need,

When all they need is help getting back on their feet.

Act that very second, don't give it another minute,

We can change any outcome by acting as a unit.

Words will never hurt is just another nursery rhyme,

Step in and step up to those being unkind.

There's so much you can do just on your own,

So much you can change with a simple hello.

Become the difference we all wish to see,
