It Was Only Eric, and Me

16, was when I met Eric
My was he the sweetest thing
I met him in the church hallway
I loved the way we used to sing
I loved Eric
And, oh, did he love me.

We married after college
Lived in a suburban house for three
We both wanted children
That was never hard to see
Everywhere seemed empty
It was only Eric, and me.

So we tried for kids
But it wasn't meant to be
Alone, together, we grew old
Then passed away
Buried under our once favorite tree
Together forever.

It was only Eric, and me.
