The Dangers of War

A young boy sits on the front steps
Holding a picture of his brother
He starts to cry as he stares
And says

Hey, it’s a dangerous place over there.
I wish you were here with me. But, you’re not, so I keep on hoping you’ll come back.
I miss you and watch out for the dangers of war (oh, oh, oh)

He waits at the airport
With his parents and young sister
His brother comes walking, a smile on his face
He races towards his brother
And in his head he hears

Hey, it’s a dangerous place over there.
I wish you were here with me.
But, you’re not, so I keep on hoping you’ll come back.
I miss you and watch out for the dangers of war (oh, oh, oh)

Years from now, he’ll be over in a war zone
He’ll have little kids at home
They’ll be on the front porch
Holding his picture and saying

Hey, it’s a dangerous place over there
I wish you were here with me. But, you’re not, so I keep on hoping you’ll come back.
I miss you and watch out for the dangers of war (oh, oh, oh)
Dangers of war (oh, oh, oh)
