She walked alone,
Year after year,
Never making so much as a sound.
People come and go
she said,
Because she only knew of people who would leave at some point after she told them who she is.
Why trust people?
she asked,
Because she had never known of the exact meaning of the word.
People only listen because they're curious not because they care

Because she had never known someone who took the time to say you and your story matter.
Why speak if you'll only be heard then put aside?

Because almost everyone she tried to trust only looked like they were listening to her.
People are cruel they're best to stay away from

Because she knew of the harsh words and whispers the other threw at her while minding her own business.
Why cant I have a family like everyone else does?

Because the only family she knew were strangers to her just as she was to them.
Family doesn't exist

Because she never knew that family doesn't have to mean blood related.
Why cant I find someone to love me for who I am and not what I could be giving out?

Because she had only known the boys who said they were men but really were just boys with stilts and a long coat to hide them.
People take advantage when I'm vulnerable so it's best never to be so

Because she only knew of those who manipulated her for what they wanted disregarding what she was comfortable with.
Why don't people don't want me around?

Because she had allowed herself to believe in her mind that she was unwanted.
I should just leave here no one will notice

Because she never realized the people in the shadows cheering her on everyday.

When she realized the people she would hurt when she thought of leaving.
I trusted someone and they didn't freak out or leave me
