Ghost's of the Past

I sit here and offer you this smile
you dismiss it as something wild
you walk on by as if I don't exist
and it twists me into something I try to resist

I sit here and remain your distant memory
a fire long extinguished by your blind eye
use to burn bright onto your wild side
then I became cold as you hung me out to dry.

Looking onto your world with my gleeful smile
as I raise a drink and salute your success
as you reminisce in your ignorant bliss
I'll continue my joyful trip.

When you continue that cackle of glee
as you think you've destroyed the world and me
just remember there's always that presence lingering
waiting in the shadows to open your eye's to see.

You think you've burned us to the ground
but that isn't the case you see,
were alive in the shadows with all the glee
soon you'll be pulled into our world and flee.

Yes the first people you've burned will be the last faces you see.
