Underachiever

My mother wanted to own a bookshop
And my father wanted to teach history
But neither of them ever did these things
And I wonder if this makes them as sad as it makes me.

I want to study zoology and travel
And I want to write my words with meaning
But maybe I’ll never do these things
And I wonder if this will make my mother and father as sad it makes me.
