Needles in Haystacks

So many things that are wrong in this world
Yet I relentlessly seek out beauty where I can
I pretend I don’t care but I dream that someday
I’ll find it for me and for those who are lost

I feel restless and wrong, I can’t right my mistakes
But at least the world sleeps when I’m up all night
I can’t turn its peace with my darkness inside
It sure brings me comfort when I’m being pulled through hell

I grab pieces of paper and make ugly scratches
‘Cause my secrets belong to another lifetime
And I feel the raw need to keep closing my eyes
As the life I once loved turns to soil and ashes

Yet sometimes I find beauty in places I expect the least
It burns my hollow chest and it aches through my soul
Blink couldn’t have said it better as I rightfully quote:
“The world’s an ugly place but you’re so beautiful to me”
