"Appear"

I remember that Spring.
The breeze blows the memories back to me.
You were careful--shy--and with whispered words,
You confessed you fell for me completely.
I remember that bench.
The hours spent there etched our time into its wood.
We were happy and laughing--always carefree--
Never looking too closely at the things we should.
I remember that tree.
The petals fell and caught in your hair.
With a sweetened kiss that's still so vivid,
I never dreamed anything else would ever compare.
I remember that time.
The rose-colored glasses we wore were a spell.
They blocked out the darkness we refused to see,
Keeping us blinded as we fell.
I remember you,
Even though you're no longer here.
That spring, that magic, those memories. .
Every time I walk this road, you always appear.
