Flower of Tomorrow

Plant me in my soil,
Give the life I need,
In the sun I'll toil.
I am but a seed.

While I flourish so slow,
Petals come about,
Mine have yet to grow.
I am but a sprout.

Displayed as the worst,
As the others succeed,
I must be so cursed,
Am I but a weed?

Now plucked and freed,
A beauty so awesome,
No longer a weed.
I am but a blossom.

I still must flourish,
But I feel no more sorrow.
I know now I'm a gorgeous,
Blooming flower of tomorrow.
