Who Is That?

There is a woman standing there,
Her brown eyes are dull.
They used to shine,
Where did that go?

There is a smile on her face,
It is fake and doesn't reach her eyes.
It is a fake smile to fool others,
She does not recognize herself.

The armor she wears is chipped,
It is damaged beyond repair.
The cracks are so deep,
They seem to reach her soul.

Her once smiling heart,
Is now in a million pieces.
She has tried to put it together,
But has cut herself too many times.

Was there anyone who could fix it?

She didn't believe there was,
It was too hard for her to do it.
No matter how hard anyone tried,
Nobody could fix her.

Looking in the mirror,
A smiling face looked back at her.

Who is that?

That smile was fake,
It did not belong to her.

She was bubbly,
With big, bright brown eyes.
A smile that brightened any room,
That made her eyes sparkle.

A heart so bright,
It warmed everyone around her.
A soul so open and warm,
It drew people to her.

Who was that?

With sad realization,
She stared at the smiling face.

Who is that?

It was her..
