I Walked Along the River Nile
Alone in a sea of faces
I waited for many a moon
To be in your tender embraces
In a song that makes me swoon
I walked across bridges
And along the river Nile
Peering over your sharp edges -
I wanted to stay a while
You whispered softly in my ear
Our story for poets to tell
And your eyes shined so clear
We knew all was going to be well
As I sit here on my wooden swing
My heart lights up in a flame
I smile because this little thing
Made my soul untamed
You love and I fall easily
I trip and land in your arms
Your touch, breathing into me,
I know will do me no harm
I waited for many a moon
To be in your tender embraces
In a song that makes me swoon
I walked across bridges
And along the river Nile
Peering over your sharp edges -
I wanted to stay a while
You whispered softly in my ear
Our story for poets to tell
And your eyes shined so clear
We knew all was going to be well
As I sit here on my wooden swing
My heart lights up in a flame
I smile because this little thing
Made my soul untamed
You love and I fall easily
I trip and land in your arms
Your touch, breathing into me,
I know will do me no harm
