A Moment of Unrest

Sanity plagues my mind

I can’t seem to divine

The slow crawl of finite time

The unconscious rhyme that slowly unwinds

The rustic memories we have cultivated

Have left me feeling unmotivated

My hands thrust up in lazy prayer

My soul inside feels stripped bare

Bed unmade; a restless night

I’m sure I’m not the only one with static plight

It runs apace me on winding paths

Leaving chaos in its aftermaths
