Blanket

A blanket held me in my sleep
with warmth of illustrative words,
a world so comforting to keep.
I slept in the most beautiful place
of purple stars and yellow skies,
and loving sighs upon my face.
I feared my quiet mind would melt
far away in long lost lands
your blanket nowhere to be felt.
but crazy things flew in my dreams:
wolves, stars, zaps, hearts,
an astral plane aglow with beams.
Your blanket held me softly close
with lullabies like faerie streams.
