Captain Pyrde

He straddled the horse, four feet and looming over all.
He had been wrong.
The cavalry had come from the back and destroyed his infantry.
He could not, would not, and should not accept the challenge,
But he was four feet and looming over all.
All his errors filled that air.
Could he crush his own hubris, step on himself, accept the defeat they all suffered?
Four feet separated him and everyone else, it was those four feet that gave him power.
