Constant Streams of Anxiety

Silently floating over the backyard,
streams of colors falling
I don’t know what’s happened to our friends,
or our loved ones,
all that I know is that it’s just you and me.

Harbors in summer,
flash floods and heat and lovers,
fill our bellies with your appetite
cause it’s all that we have ever known

Stars shining
the tide is rising
filling our heads with smoke and mirrors
perceived endings just leaving us wanting
things that aren’t there anymore.

White walls and hollow
homes
fill the room with the scent of
cloves
sometimes I wonder will there ever be an end
to whatever means and sins that you commit.

Chalk on the sidewalk
rain splashing down on our parade
sometimes I wonder
if there was ever you and me?

Harbors in summer,
flash floods and heat and lovers,
fill our bellies with your appetite
cause it’s all that we have ever known

Thrift shops,
short stops,
climaxes in the introduction.
Hang ups,
bang ups,
do things ever go our way?
