Town Life

Traffic lights, streets sprawling
LA living, and diamonds crawling,
how the times have changed,
the living are arranged,
in ways that suit the better paid.

On the sidewalks the people wait,
to see the celebrities walk down them every day
flashing cameras and news microphones,
never been too fond of highrise living alone.

Standing there, in times square
Madison Garden calling your name
billboards light up with a hello
time to go to your first show

Sing a song, or play the guitar
is that all you really are?
I can see your eyes shine
Oh, how this city has killed that light.
