Escaping Reality

Light up to relax after a day of the pressure I put on myself.
Popping pills to forget the memory of yesterday, forget the events of today, and forget about the possibility of tomorrow.
Pouring shots and shots to lower my standards.
Doing lines to create time for my responsibilities.
Dropping tabs to alter my perspective of reality for just twelve hours.
That’s my main goal.
To get out of my head.
Escape my thoughts.
To create time just to drift away for a little.
And make it back before anyone notices I was gone.
Then do it all again.
