Blessed

Lovely words don’t come easily to me
I don’t think I have the vocabulary
To write you a poem worthy of your presence
To accurately depict the magnitude of your pleasance
But I promise that I will always try

Like the night sky
There is darkness, yet you continue to shine
I cannot own you, yet you are mine
Some nights won’t be as bright
But soon enough, you return the light
And though your eyes shine a lighter blue
They resemble the sea, reflecting the moon
Your smile, brighter still, reminds of the midnight waves
Crashing against the silent air, something everyone craves
Violent, but calm
Relieving qualm

Though everyone may bear witness to your aesthetic, so few get to experience
What it’s like to be engulfed by your brilliance
And yet, though I am but chaos personified,
You choose to soothe the storms that rage inside
And when they are to riotous to tame,
You still refuse to snuff my flame
With a love more vibrant than eyes can see
You bandage the damage inside of me
You are my safe place to rest
I am blessed
