To Kill a King

What do you need in order to be able to kill a human being?
What do you think you need so you can kill your king?
Is it the strength that's hidden in your soul?
Your passion that runs deep through your veins?
Or something even more complicated
that stains your mind with madness?

I have to kill him.
There is no other way.

I have to free my beloved
from the chains that bind him.
The king can't help me
for he is too young
to make his own desicions
and the counselors have poisoned his mind
with lies to condemn the innocent
for their own crimes.
My beloved should have been innocent
until proven otherwise
but they won't let a child decide.

How can I save him without spilling innocent blood?
I can't, and the only path I can take is that of a murderer.

Fate is against us this time
and the ones called to roll the dice of death
are the ones who are not worthy of it.
Death shouldn't welcome innocent souls
but the corrupted, like the souls of the counselors.
If it wasn't for them,
we would have been free.
My love wouldn't have to die because of their crimes
because along with our new king,
they are the most innocent,
with puriry all over their young hearts.

If only the king wasn't that young,
then he wouldn't have to die,
I wouldn't have to kill
and my beloved wouldn't have to be executed.

Fate is playful and cruel
for I who couldn't kill even an insect
will take a human life.
One life for the other;
the king dies
and my beloved lives.
