I'd Never

I’d never seek to oppose you nor dissuade you nor depose you,
I’d never seek to destroy you nor persuade your nor expose you
I’d never seek to remand you nor defame you nor defile you
You see, the reason is so plainly simple,
Because I don’t have to,

I don’t need to destroy your fame or dissuade your credibility,
I don’t need to oppose your actions or remand your principles,
See, you do it for me with grace and dignity,
You destroy yourself before the public eye, to my satisfaction and praise,
You flaunt yourself, taunt yourself, daunt yourself, gaunt yourself,
And all the while I sit back and sip tea, letting my early retirement commence,
Meanwhile you wither and die in shame and repugnance,
Waiting for the day I’ll acknowledge your existence,
Which I refuse to do, simply because I don’t have to,

And then the day will come when you, old and gray, tired and worn, disgraced and abandoned,
Lie on your cot and worn away shoddy mattress,
Lie on your filth and grimed-up proddy flat ass,
And I will come for you, appearing as if like a relief from pain and suffering,
I shall come not like a raven in the night, nor like the palored face of the Angel of Death
Nor the Angel of Mercy, either, for that matter,
I will come for you, and purge you, and whittle away what hope you thought you believed you’d retained,
For there is no hope in me, no hope in the end,
Your end,
And I will consume all that you are, and you shall not exist,
And you time will over, and my youth will remain,
And you will die, and I shall be eternal,

Death is and shall always be beyond me

Fear the wrath of the watchful, for they are ever vengeful, but never opulent.
