Morning Dew

Strewn across dewy fields did lay
Little jewels like silver and gold.

As the sun shone its gleaming ray
I sat admiring them from here,
By my window where I waste day,
Watching as sunrise made them fade.

A shame they were taken away,
It was my wish for them to stay.
