What Am I

What am I
It shrouds every thought
Darkens the every region
It flows forth with unforgiving menace
And devours the mind
Like a raging fire would a tattered cloth
Guilt is the darkness
Guilt shrouds your thoughts
Like the clouds do the sun
And Shame is the fire
The fire that burns and tatters your mind
Like salt to the open wound
But from the darkness emerges light
For it is guilt that makes us human
And shame that anchors us to our morals
But what if I am not influenced by guilt
Or anchored shame
I do not need ethics
or rely on morals
I invest in myself
And Viel my mind from the guilt and shame
Then tell me
What am I
