To Life

The graying sky is growling
The spring sunshine not yet here
Only within is all to be
Without resides the mystery

So stop and go, fast and slow
Running ragged out of breath
Let me go – help me to know
The truth so we can grow

It takes a look – it takes to hear
And seeing listening is there
To find that which it is
We seek finding our own souls

To be the best that we can be
And Psyche’s own restraint
Have found familiar housing
Amidst the local strangers

And finding strength within our fear
Outcoming me despite
And sight and sound their own mandate
Where Wrong tells Truth he’s right

From cold to warm and back again
It ruffles all one’s sage
And in the abstract make him think
from talking unto rage

Sorrowing at sight at first
Blocking ears which from to hear
It was along I found myself
My friends walked out the door.

Along but not alone
Never quite that desolate
Anger, fear, frustration, grief
Are calmed by smiling hearts

And so within the shadows
That search for me to see
The greyed old clouds clear for the sun
In brightened mystic glee

The barren trees do my heart hold
And with my heart will grow
The green burst forth like fireworks
Like raining sundrops gold.

It was from fear, frustration, grief
That first I was afraid
And with submission came relief
And peace to end the trade

In fits and fallow lay the fall
From grace to grief inside
Yet truth beholds a grace in kind
The light surrounds and blinds

The Shadows of the soul are found
When Truth’s light shines on you
And recognition paves the way
To hold you to what’s true

To hold up walls in front of me
Will always cause a fall
But break them down to see the light
Is the greatest gift for all
