Strength
I want to be strong,
But I need you to allow me to be weak.
I’ve fought my entire life,
And I don’t need your critique.
I’ve moved mountains to be where I am currently at.
My tears are a sign of strength and not to be perceived as bad.
I’ve needed to break down every wall I build.
Insecurities, masks and invisible voiced I’d killed.
I don’t need to be told to be strong,
I’ve learned how to be that all on my own.
I just need you to love me,
To embrace me when I come home.
