Rainstorm.
Not just rain, but a frigid wind
tearing through her like a trained killer
carving into a victim who just wants it to end.
Lightning strikes.
A fire bursts forth from the Earth,
Swallowing the life that created it.
Swallowing her whole, consumed by the -
Sunshine.
The smell of freshly cut grass gently
caressing her nose in the
soft,
satin wind.
Children giggling in the distance,
A mother smiling at the
Beautiful life she created.
Joy wrapping her in a warm blanket of-
Terror.
Something creaks in the night.
She holds her breath as the footsteps pass.
The voice from the other side of the door
cooing her from where she hides in abject
Horror.
I won’t hurt you.
I promise.
Fear ripping her apart as she
gasps through her fingers.
The door is forced open and-
Quiet.
Serene, beautiful
Quiet.
Split wide open by the screams
and restored by
sweet smiles that fill the heart with
Warmth.
Too warm.
Burning hot.
Ice cold,
sinking into Mariana’s Trench.
Tornadoes that tear the world to pieces.
Loving touches that glue her together.
Demons whispering in her ears.
Misery.
Euphoria.
Despair.
Ecstasy.
Agony-

And then?
A moment of clarity.
Somebody,
please.
Help me.
