A Poem For You

If I could only find the words I need
to tell you how I feel

If I could only create the metaphors,
or similies,
Use sound like alliteration,
or euphony,
That would tell you what
you need to hear

If I could only mold words into
the phrases they need to be
Use them to paint a picture
Even if it was just paint splatters
on a canvas
I would read my verses to you
In the hopes that you would understand
these abstract feelings

If I could only show you,
just once,
how much you mean to me
Then I would waste no time in
doing so
I would present you as the
light of my life
a candle in the dark
the sun in my sky
You are everything to me

If I could only make my love
seem like something beautiful
And not just some stray words
picked and typed

If I could only somehow make it seem like
you deserve me
Because I don't deseve you
You are so much more,
so much higher
then anything I will ever be

If I could only write a poem
A poem for you
Then maybe I wouldn't feel
this way
