You, Noble One

Oh, what a curious day,
Of lying and half-truths,
Well, you don’t know this yet
But I’m in love with you.

This burns me like a torch
And you’re a lit up match;
The flare is in your words,
And, my heart, made of ice.

Your smile, it will live on,
At that, what can I do
But pray it gives my soul
Redemption from the doomed.

Please, don’t you run away,
I promise I’ll stay still;
You’ll hear nothing at day,
At night, I’ll chase your fears.

You’re free like Southern air,
I am a slave of time,
You have the key to change
My poisonous black mind.

But I won’t taint your life
With hands stained ashen-grey,
I’m no good for your heart,
Promise I’ll stay away.

This is enough for me,
To have you as a friend,
I will not interfere
In your path or your fate.

And I pray that some day
You find one worthy of you,
Whose smile is free of rain,
-Who can tell you the truth,-
Whose only thought is you.
