Beautiful Cosmos

He was the stars scattered
Across the violet hued sky.
He was the whispering winds
And the groaning willow trees.
He was the burble of the creek
And the stillness of the night.
He adorned nature as his cloak
And, by God,
There was never a more beautiful sight.
He was the music in the air
And he tangoed in the breeze.
In his eyes shone Moon
And her lover, Sun,
And I could taste the sweet complexities
Of the cosmos on his lips.
I struggled to hold him in my arms
But I could not hope to capture
The Universe in my hands.
