Tolerance
Our tongues tied, licked lips,
Dreaded they would ever part,
Although she listened to my words,
She never heard my heart.
Quick thoughts, lonely days,
I missed her as if she were dead,
A warmth in my heart missing,
And a still silence in its stead.
Long nights, endless miles,
Raw distance sharper than glass,
A pain that rings and resonates,
Yet doesn't seem to pass.
Short words, cold pillows,
We cant help but make mistakes,
For the first time in a long time,
I remember how love aches.
Dreaded they would ever part,
Although she listened to my words,
She never heard my heart.
Quick thoughts, lonely days,
I missed her as if she were dead,
A warmth in my heart missing,
And a still silence in its stead.
Long nights, endless miles,
Raw distance sharper than glass,
A pain that rings and resonates,
Yet doesn't seem to pass.
Short words, cold pillows,
We cant help but make mistakes,
For the first time in a long time,
I remember how love aches.
