I didn't know you when we began
With long verses of deep thought
Insights into ourselves
Spilling from the seams of our minds
And onto glowing screens

When I would have agonized
Over the futility of my life
There you were
You saved me from the silence
I would have filled with nervous tension

You put me at ease
You treat me with courtesy and respect
But you are a human being
Sometimes I sense fear and pain
Hiding between the dauntless lines of your character

Maybe this is the way it works
When you don't know someone
But you know how they think
