Coming Home
I woke up from my past today;
Glanced behind at all the memories.
Lost in time to the melodies
That once filled my heart.
Beside me sits a spirit bare;
Asking what I want from here.
This endless darkness
All around.
My voice is gone as I try to speak;
Knowing that for what I seek,
Such gifts can not
Be found.
I stand in place, prepared to leave,
When the spirit calls to me,
"Are you sure you still can
Go?"
Smile appears on my face,
Tears try to threaten me,
A single nod is
All I can give.
From silken pockets he,
Pulls out a single string;
Ties it to my
Finger.
"Follow this, once you decide.
Life is but a simple ride,
Here is where I'll wait for you,
Till you come home..."
Glanced behind at all the memories.
Lost in time to the melodies
That once filled my heart.
Beside me sits a spirit bare;
Asking what I want from here.
This endless darkness
All around.
My voice is gone as I try to speak;
Knowing that for what I seek,
Such gifts can not
Be found.
I stand in place, prepared to leave,
When the spirit calls to me,
"Are you sure you still can
