Of Untrusting Good Friends

I see pain on a face that shows too much at once
And this face, he’s my friend but I don’t trust his heart
Hear despair in his voice as he tells me white lies
Can’t you tell by his tone that he’s testing my stand?

He sees colors, he’s sure; but my world’s black and white
He’s not hollow, he’s true but I still see no light
He’s a donor of words, I’m not safe, this is why
He’s the sponsor of sorrows; he’s a fox in disguise

But this friend, him I love, he’s the first one I met
Hesitate? That’s so not who he is, he won’t care
Well, he cares; not like that, he just doesn’t think straight
He’s insane, so am I, so we get along great

He talks more than he should, he won’t listen to me
He’s in love with the moon, he’s aware of his sins
He must slow down; I fear something happens to him
But he won’t; it’s so clear he’s destined to succeed

Well, this friend makes me laugh, he’s refined and well-kept
Our own ways, they clash hard, we’re different and we’re strange
Hope one day he finds happiness, that he gets one more chance
I’ll keep safe as of now, and I hope he won’t change
