Crackles Shatter
Deep crackles shatter
through my ears, a shelf of ice
cascades to the sea.

This poem, (as well as another haiku of mine, 'Oblivion") are about when I went kayaking in Alaska a few summers back. We got to get really close to a huge glacier, and a giant shelf of ice just crumbled of. It made a really loud crackling sound when it did.It was really cool.
