Wallflower

Walking through an open courtyard
Waltzing underneath the clouds
Silenced by the noise around me
Hidden, blending with the crowds

Sitting in a classroom corner
Noting actions right and left
My classmates scramble out the door
I simply weave through them with deft

Completely satisfied and content
A social standing with no power
Nobody takes a single glance
Toward me, a wallflower

At a table, no one near
Just another boring day
Some ruffling by me made me turn
I heard a quiet "hey"

You looked at me
I froze
