Smile Against My Skin

Late at night, I think
about our evenings

Of topped-up wine glasses
and the heady gaze of what's to come

Of kissing in the twilight
The shouts of strangers on the street fading into nothing
and the silence of you and me falling heavily upon our shoulders, our hearts.

Fast breathing, dilated pupils

Barely in the door before clothes come off
Quiet, don't wake the housemates

Hushed laughter, loud kissing
Sudden gasps

Moans

Memories of stifling summer nights
tangled together

My favourite memory the feeling
of lips curling against my neck, love blossoming

That smile against my skin
