A Witch's Thanks
Thank you little bumbling honeybee buzzing in my blossoms;
Thank you silent bats that swoop in the starry night;
Thank you grumbling grey clouds above;
Thank you nature for sustaining us in the ever-turning circle of life.
And to humanity the whole planet over-
Thank you random sir for knocking that old lady down;
Thank you young lady for picking her back up;
Thank you humans for showing how flawed we are
This young witch gives thanks, to the good and the bad,
Thank you to this crazy, complicated, wonderful, ugly world.
Your hard work is not unnoticed.
Thank you silent bats that swoop in the starry night;
I haven't had one bug bite this summer.
Thank you grumbling grey clouds above;
Your labor feeds the earth below you.
Thank you nature for sustaining us in the ever-turning circle of life.
And to humanity the whole planet over-
Thank you random sir for knocking that old lady down;
You help teach patience and forgiveness.
Thank you young lady for picking her back up;
You show me there's still kindness in the world.
Thank you humans for showing how flawed we are
And how much work we still need to do.
This young witch gives thanks, to the good and the bad,
To things natural and man-made,
From the tallest redwood to the smallest ant,
From the highest skyscraper to the lowest sewer,
From the tallest redwood to the smallest ant,
From the highest skyscraper to the lowest sewer,
Thank you to this crazy, complicated, wonderful, ugly world.
