Words Are Immortal
My body may not last long
And neither may my brain
It will not matter if I sang some song
Or if I went through so much pain
Even the sun won't last forever
Not our homes or planted trees
Not the machines or pulled levers
They will all be broken inevitably
But there are things that are immortal
That are everlasting
None of these things are tangible
That are good or bad, same or contrasting
Words are harder
Than sticks and stones
They break your heart when it has no guarder
Souls are more fragile than bones
So be aware and be careful
Of all you write and say
And I am prayerful
That your words will make someone's life or day
And neither may my brain
It will not matter if I sang some song
Or if I went through so much pain
Even the sun won't last forever
Not our homes or planted trees
Not the machines or pulled levers
They will all be broken inevitably
But there are things that are immortal
That are everlasting
None of these things are tangible
That are good or bad, same or contrasting
Words are harder
Than sticks and stones
They break your heart when it has no guarder
Souls are more fragile than bones
So be aware and be careful
Of all you write and say
And I am prayerful
That your words will make someone's life or day
