Fingernails

White at the knuckles I find myself arthritic,
Fingers seem almost always
Worn and fatigued

This continuous war against
Stain upon stain:
Always trying to bleach them
Off of my sink

I scrub away at the crusted texture-
All the while harshly
Gritting down on my teeth

I need to trim my fingernails;
I can't even stand the sight of
The blood underneath
