America?

America? I yell into the hills
America? America? America?
No response but echoes
Am I nothing? I ask into the darkness
Am I nothing? Am I nothing? I nothing? Nothing?
Mexico doesn’t reply
Besides the quiet yet no so dull roaring of the waterfall down the hill
That waterfall isn’t alone and neither am I
We are in nothing’s company tonight
Forget the borders and names
Hello nothing nothing echoes
I am nothing too and we shall keep each other company

America! America! America!
Replies the hills
I am something!
Am I nothing? Am I nothing? I nothing?
Nothing?
Replies the hills
Something once more!
Waterfall continually carving it’s devastating path through the valley
Will carry this something away
Out to the sea

Dreams sit so closely under consciousness sometimes they poke their heads up into the mind
I cannot help but think these dreams are somewhat of a conscious creation
I dream of you perhaps because I want to
My dream fades with words
Nothing was meant to be words
So the poet finds his masterpiece fleeting and unavailable
My beautiful dreams gone with the first rays of sunlight
Nay, even in the cold light of the moon they lift like a fog
Another day they say...
I hope I can fall back asleep and be with you again for just a few more hours tonight
I sleep so long hoping to be anywhere else
It is no surprise to me to find you in my dreams when you are so stuck on my conscious mind
