As The Sun Rises

As the Sun Rises, I fall

As I fall, the water rises

As the water rises, I sink

And I sink, down into the abyss that is dark and dismal

As I sink, water entraps my lungs

My lungs are full of salt water

The salt water burns, and my visions blur

The blur of wooden planks surround me

I cannot hear but the heaviness of the ocean that I am engulfing

Engulfed so deep, I might as well just fall into a forever sleep

A forever sleep would feel nice, anything to stop the sting of the saltwater

The sea's my home, but it will also be my grave

For I was too brave, to keep my hands safe

Now, they too, call the ocean their slave.
