I Must Be Blind
I must be blind,
Born without the sight,
Living in the darkness,
Oblivious to the light.
I must be deaf,
Unconscious to the cries,
And to the broken screams,
While following the lies.
I must be senseless,
Not knowing wrong from right,
Standing with the enemy,
On the wrong side of the fight.
I must be lost,
Headed the wrong direction,
Turning away from freedom,
Turning toward rejection.
I must be wrong,
Never being who you want,
Being my own person,
Your opinion of me left to haunt.
