There And Then

It was there and then,
He said to me,
“I will always love you,
For all of eternity.”

I smiled at him,
And looked in his eyes.
The truth hidden well,
But I saw no lies.

I answered back,
“I love you,
For eternity and
And after, too”.

He held me tightly,
But gentle his touch be,
A smile on his lips,
For the entire world to see.

His lips touched my hair,
I stood quietly there,
Entranced by the moment,
As he stroked my hair.

I want it to last,
This moment in time,
So I say goodbye,
And end my little rhyme.
