Good Morning, Dreadful Night

Good morning, dreadful night.

Dark.
Light.
Closed eyes open.
Death.
Life
Inhale and choke.

A Shadow
Moving
Closer and further away

As I run

The streetlamps
Splashes puddles of light
In this dark realm.

I cannot see, I cannot speak.
The air gets caught in my throat,
Still every breath claws both lungs
While needles of fear taunt my freighted heart.

The circle is spinning as I flee,
If not I am the one who sprints astray.
Dead ends increases rapidly by the time
They fade away into nothing once more.

A ray cuts through the entire world
And I tumble out of my obscure universe.
I hit the ground as I fall down onto my bed,
Snatched from my nightmare by the rising sun.

Dawn
Morning
One pain traded for another.
A nightmare of imagination
For a dreadful brand new day.
