Dream

I came upon a beautiful meadow
Where birds chirped and the animals roamed free
Where the flowers were red, pink, and yellow
How wonderful was the scene before me
Trees with leaves of yellow, green, red, and gold
I wanted to stay right there forever
Deer were in the field standing oh so bold
They called for me but I replied, “Never!”
The sky was a wonderful baby blue
The grass was tall and the color, pale green
But then something happened, I never knew
What was happening to what I had seen?
The scene evaporated it did seem
The scene was but a dream, only a dream.
