Leaving
A tear stained cheek
rests against the window pane
As monstrous gray clouds
soak the earth with rain
Lightning strikes,
rips a hole in my heart
Leaving a spark so faint
in my world so dark
For a second I glimpse time
as it lay in the past
The good times there were,
the ones that didn't last
Dragged gainst my will
to a smaller kind of hell
Here, life doesn't exist
It's nothing but a shell
It holds water and air
they think I can survive
But in this strange new place,
I think I'd rather die.
