My Brown Eyes

My Brown Eyes,
Staring back at me,
Golden flecks sparkling,
With caring, loving grace.

Dark shadowing pupils,
Coaxing, drawing me,
Into their deep abyss,
Never will I return.

Nor will I want to,
For comfort will surround me,
Gentle arms protect me,
Shielding me from hurt and pain.

My Brown Eyes,
Are truly not my own,
Belonging to the one I love,
Given just to me.

He told me to protect them,
To stand by them forever,
And never go away,
For they would bring me peace.

I'm healing deep inside,
By the strongest spell,
Woven tight around my heart,
Killing every doubt.

My Brown Eyes,
Looking deep into them,
They will always be cherished,
And I will always hold them dear.
