A Frightful Storm

Dark clouds coming through the starie night
Birds squak in a frightful cry,
Thunder rumble through the sky
Lightning thrashes with great might,

Children hide underneath the covers
Clutching to their chest are their teddy bears,
Knowing that they will care
That you cry in fright and hover,

While the wind is thrashing the willow,
Your heartbeat matches the rains tapping aound,
As you notice that you are lost, yet you are found
Tears slide down your cheek and landing on your pillow,

Lightning touches the trees
Your heart stops and you cannot breath,
A fire starts upon the breeze
You lay there quiet and still as death,
As the frightful strom keeps rolling on outside the window...
