Nothing But a Fantasy

As she lays, her hands pray,
to ease her struggle through these days,
and she hopes and dreams,
though to others it may seem.

She's in love, a forbidden love,
brought about by the strum
of his guitar and sound of his voice.
She has no choice.

Age is nothing but a number,
but not to her.
In her deep slumber,
she cannot help but to fantasize.

Him,
and her.
Together, with no limits
of imagination or retaliation.

She fears rejection,
and by the look of his complexion
he confesses no love for her.

"I'm packing up my things and moving on without you.
As far as I can see you'll never do what I do.
I'm pushing you away, living out my dreams that you tore down.
Can't you just swallow up your pride,
admit to me, and finally drown."
