The Patient

It started out as an innocent wait
In the lobby of the local " Saint"
As they called his name from the front
His Mind, His Heart became blunt
He sat on the bed with a vacant stare
Looking around without any care
The doctor put his hands on him
When he heard, His mind went thin
No one could do anything at that point
A knife a needle even if joined
He was as good as dead and gone
For in two weeks, He'd be done

In these two weeks, He had to tell
His love, His life of this tragic tale
He began to think of her broken heart
How she would take the horrible part
Thinking she would be there for him
Through the rise and fall, When the lights went dim
Her eyes filled with tears of pain and doubt
She looked at him then walked out
To his surprise, She would walk out again and say,
"I don't love you like I did yesterday"
From this he knew that it was all a lie
Without a sound, he blew her a kiss good bye
Realizing that there was nothing more to live for
As he left his heart became sore
"The hardest part of this is leaving you"
Words he regretted saying even though true

He already started to wither away
Only two days after after his hospital stay
He had no one to care, No one to see
No one to help him through this tragedy
He had lost his mother at a very young age
Because he decided to live in his teenage stage
He went to war, Played with the gun
He knew he could have been a better son
He had lost everyone else after giving up on her
Thinking that drugs and waste were the better cure
He would sit alone nights at a time
Sitting quietly in the dark
Quiet like a mime
After he overcame this fearful hour,
Depression succombed him into it's dark power
The only thing that would release him from this
Was the intensity and addiction of her loving kiss

Now all of that was done, Gone in the past
Only thinking of the present, What there is last
He decided to forgive and forget, No reason to plead
"Why should I try?" He said "There's no reason to bleed"
He accepts the fact that death is near
He runs tis thought through his head with a sneer
He looked in the mirror and didn't like what he saw
He smiled and thought, " It's Over! Ha!"
He knew it was coming and he grinned with satisfaction
No faith, No pain, No needless operation

Now what would death have in store for him?
No light, No fun, Always fairly dim
No way would he have this depressing stir
He wanted a celebration, A party to lure
All of the demons and all of their friends
To join the parade for the time of his end
It was a good thing he was leaving this earth
Like ashes of a fire left in the hearth
All of the lonely corpses and souls
Would all be invited to help him pull
The plug of the machine keeping him alive
To end all of his misery, To stop his abide
"Yes" He thought, " This will be fun"
To end is life although it never really begun
He was ready now to take his leave
Even though yes, It is hard to beilieve

When his last day approached, He was struck with a scare
Even though it was what he deserved, It happened to be fair
He started to ponder on all of the things he had done
From where it had ended, from where it had begun
He tried to blame others for all of his mistakes
It was a lie in his heart that made him start to shake
He decides to accept the fact that it was all his fault
That it was his own problems that made him fall
He wants to forgive himself and never tell
It would not matter if he went to Heaven or Hell

He was ready for it and he hoped it came soon
He sat there waiting all alone in his room
When the time came to be taken away
He grinned and replied with, " I'm ready. Okay."
His mind and soul were then lifted up
When he got to his final resting place, He raised his cup
He thanked all of the people that help him get there
He was now so happy! No sadness or terror
Now that he has no worry or care
He would like to invite you to this tragic affair
To him in his parade of new life
So you can live happy with no gun or no knife

Now you know the story of the man
That had no present, no future, no plan
You can now understand what people go through
And you hope to God that it will never be you
"So live your life to the fullest" Said He
"Don't end up failing just like me"
It started out as an innocent wait
In the lobby of the local "Saint"
